Jeff Goodman of FoxSports.com blogs about the strides that Willie Warren is making as a playmaker.
This is certainly good news for Warren’s draft stock if he can continue to show this improvement. We already knew that he was a big time scoring threat after averaging 15 points a game last year as a freshman at Oklahoma, but we questioned if he could ever make the transition to being a lead guard that distributes the ball to his teammates. In his first game of the season Warren dished out 11 assist while only committing 2 turnovers. At 6 foot 4 and a solid 200 pounds, Warren has star potential at the next level if he can play the point full-time.
Right now he probably goes in the top 10 in June’s draft, but if he can keep showing scouts that his first game of the season was not a fluke, he could crack the top 5.
